Shipping time is RIDICULOUS!


Just wondering if this is typical....

I pay almost $7 for shipping and have to wait at least 2 weeks for my order? I am a huge online shopper and I NEVER have to wait 2 weeks for anything. This has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen as far as shipping goes. Other sites if I pay $7 it is usually for priority mail and I get my stuff within a week or so.

Is it just me or is this total B.S.?

They are lucky they have such great coupons and great products or they would lose business just from the damn shipping times.

ELF, lower your shipping costs and quit using FedEx Smartpost! Same package shipped directly with USPS would take less than half the time....

It Took 3 days to just process my order!

Their Customer Service sucks! I Have Sent Quite A few Messages over the past week and a half....and they havent even been answered!

Sooooo rediculous!

Glad to know I'm not the only one! LOL It's like, come on, for a company with such great products you would think they would care more about their customers and timely delivery of their orders.

I guess they take for granted the fact that people will order anyways and just deal with being treated badly. It really is crappy...

I ordered last week.. i am still waiting my order, but even when their shipping is bad i think i can accept it cause their products are very cheap and most of them goods.. i hope my order arrived this week..  Good luck girls :)

I ordered 7/5 and its still shipping. I try not to look at the negative so much because this 60% off sale probably slammed ELF's packing and shipping crew with orders, so I believe they are doing the best that they can to send us our pretty things. :) Also, maybe fedex is having it rough too. I have bought from this company for over 2 years and have had very little issues with them.

All and all, I hope your things get here soon. :)

I had to wait nearly 3 weeks for them to ship it!!!

I placed my order early at 7am on 6/27/2010. ELF 'shipped' the order on 7/9/2010.

Ridiculous! Called customer service & left 2 voicemails and i did not receive 1 call back..

They have horrible customer service!

I ordered the same day that cristina did.. but without that cupon :)..BTW this is my very first time that i'm going to try ELF cosmetics so im trying to not be negative about the shiping..i hope that i like the products.. :) Well girls hope that you receive your orders really soon

I have been ordering for about a year myself. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the fact that my elf choices at my local Target are limited, so in order to get certain things I have to order online. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the products and will probably continue to order even with the shipping issues. BUT, every time I have ordered except for one time I have had to wait at least 2 weeks. I figured if we all talked about it maybe elf would do something about it... thanks for your opinions ladies, I hope you all get your stuff soon too....

I hope you get your things soon Becca. ELF carries a lot of good products. Jennie, I am sorry to hear about how long you have been waiting. And waiting. I bet they have to be super busy. I hope you get your things soon too.

I'm not sure what to think at the moment, but another order cleared for myself (I can't have enough, I guess. lol) and sadly enough, I order the following day from my previous order, on 7/6 and it just now is being sent through the network for shipping. :o I have high hopes in ELF and fedex, and truly, once my things are here, I'll be a happy clam. :)

it took forever just for processing (6 days) and today I find out from the Fed ex site that the package has not even moved from the original place yet... And best of all, the date of arrival was pushed back another day! This is insane! $7 for shipping and still no progress? That sucks! 

Yes, Elf's products are amazing, and this is my 3rd order from Elf (in 4 months), but if shipping doesn't improve, I think I'm gonna have to maybe wait and order once a year... Its sad, but this waiting is insane! (11 days and counting)

Here is a question for you ladies. Have you ever recieved your ELF package before it was due to be dropped. Example, my package was due on 7/17 but I got it today, 7/14.

I haven't yet. I placed my order early on 7/6 and the tracking says it should arrive on 7/17. But I haven't had any orders arrive early, that would be awesome though! Maybe I will get lucky like you and it will come tomorrow!?!?! :o)

I placed an order on july 5, and i'm still waiting. Supposedly it will arrive tomorrow?

the worst part is that i payed $12......TWELVE DOLLARS....for 3 day shipping. waste of money ladies. it STILL takes 2 weeks. I sent an email and got a very generic reply.

hopefully it comes soon...i only place orders when the discounts are really good.

I am seriously starting to believe it might be Fedex. Because if Rebecca paid for faster shipping and its still snailing along, then something has to be up with them. I wonder how we can get ahold of (without throttling the life out of) someone at Fedex to ask about these slow packages.

Making a lady wait is rude and you all seem so very sweet.

Happy to read I am not the only with that problem! I now pay the extra for faster delivery otherwise I do not receive my products for at least two weeks! Being summer now, and usually hot by the time it comes around anything that can melt, like lipsticks, melts, so I cannot order lipstick now unless I pay for next day delivery. I hate when they have the free shipping or $1.98 shipping specials because you just know you won't see your stuff for weeks! So it's a rip off for those promotions. ELF should just quick those particular promos.

I like the promos, but you are right, that is most of the reason for the delays. I think if they shipped using only priority mail, or even just regular USPS it would be TONS better than using that FedEx smartpost. As Christina said, it probably is a FedEx problem, but if Elf had any consideration for their customers they wouldn't use a shipping service that takes so unbelievably long to ship. My whole point here is that Elf should care more about their customers, and this thread alone shows how many pissed off customers they have because of the shipping issues.

I hope they see this thread and do something about this...

You are right about the FedEx smartpost! I always have to contact them and track my package only to be told it's be handed off to the post office now and their isn't anything they can do. I HATE THE FEDEX SMARTPOST. And because of it I am weary of any other company that ships cheaply! I don't have a choice either as l live in the desert so I am limited to shopping online for everything but groceries! I even have to order online for Walmart stuff! So Smartpost has put me off. Good point you bringing this up hopefully they will wise up to this and figure out a better plan of action! Thanks!!

Wow, of all the lovely ladies to comment so far you have been the most negative of them all! This is just a friendly discussion about something we are all a little frustrated about. Honestly, I don't care if my item costs $1 or $100 I want to feel like I am appreciated as a customer. Incidently, I always spend at least $15 and have spent well over $100 on Elf, which is way more than I have ever spent on Mac. So, Bibiana, you can take your negativity elsewhere and leave us to vent our frustrations about a brand we ABSOLUTELY love but have some small issues with...

I have been an ELF lover a long time. I have purchased $1,000's from this company and am a huge fan so if I want to have a discussion about some melted lipstick, lip plumper, and the time it takes to get to me,  I will! Did you even read that some of us don't have other options but to order online? So maybe "Yall" should stick to another message on the board!

Wow talk about anger management problems and issues!!  Looks like she is a retail shopper anyway and hasn't even done much online shopping! She doesn't even belong in this discussion. I see no point in your post! It is absolutely unnecessary!

You have to realize we live in a competitve world. I'm sure we all ordered makeup from other stores/companies, etc and got our products a lot quicker compared to ELF. We are clearly just stating that the shipping time is way too long. The long wait time is just un-acceptable just like your comment.

I wish mine would get here in two weeks. I live in Okinawa (military), and my stuff takes more than a month to get here. I know it's the company they use, Fedex, because stuff I order from Amazon and others, using the USPS, gets here in a little less than two weeks, so I know it's not just because I'm far away.

 I'd rather pay 7 bucks than 15!!! I've only made one order so far because of the crazy canadian shipping costs. I love the products, but I can't drop 15 on shipping alone without buying enough stuff to justify it.

 

Oh, and the free shipping codes only save us Canadians $7, we still pay an additional 8! Hurry  up and lower shipping so I can buy some studio products, ELF! :)

 I would have to say I understand. Shipping isn't that great but the products are worth it. I always pay more for 3 day select and it still takes a while. I wish they could do a little faster with that but that's life...sometimes you have to bite the bullet.

i've heard alot about how long shipping takes & when i placed my first order i didnt expect to get it for a while...i ordered it on a tuesday...it shipped the following friday...and i got my stuff on wednesday of the next week...i was really suprised

Yes shipping does take a long time to arrive. However, I am very upset with the way my products arrive. They come in a standard size box, with 1 piece of tape over the top. So by the time I receive the package, it is half open because one little strip of tape is not going to keep it closed properly while traveling.

In addition, my products have been smashed / squished in the box. Some of the items were broken and out of the packages. Very disappointing. I hope ELF does not get to be too big to still cover customer service properly. It seems they have to keep the prices cheap and offer coupons or else they would loose a lot of customers. As a customer, you also value customer service.

Something ELF definitely needs to approve on.

Whereas I feel like the shipping is usually slow (for the price), I think a big part of the problem is that they ARE high volume & they use FedEx.  I'm suprised that anyone still uses FedEx.  I'm pretty sure it costs more to ship residentially?  Or maybe it's the other way around, and that's why they use FedEx, despite the lag.  Either way, my first order took a while, the last one took about six days (processing & all), & this one is taking about six days so far, but they were out of my eyeshadows from the 10 free quads promo which means I'm just s.o.l. because they didn't credit the product or replace it with something else.  Lame.  As my boyfriend said, "So they have a promo, didn't prepare, and you have to just deal with it?"  ..Yeah.  Apparently so.

That said, what they lack in other aspects they make up for in price for products, and I have a feeling that's part of the problem, unfortunately.

I stumbled upon ELF cosmetics and tried a few products from Target and KMart and, of course, was hooked.  I placed my first online order on 8/17 and my package arrived yesterday (8/24).  I got the tracking information and followed it online.  When my package arrived yesterday, one item was missing, so I called customer service.   - I just got an email that the missing item is shipping today. 

Okay, now since I read the reviews and posts prior to ordering online, I was not too surprised when something was missing.  The stuff is FANTASTIC and you can't beat the prices!  And with all the promotions and %off deals, I can maybe put up with a little slip up here and there.  After all, nothing I'm ordering here is life altering that I can't wait a few extra days.  But I'll be keeping my eye on my orders and packages. 

On the other side of the coin - if the powers that be are reading this - not everyone else is so patient and understanding.  Just because you offer a great product at a drastically cheap price, doesn't mean that you can provide shoddy service.  Like previous posters - I agree that maybe you should just use USPS priority mail rather than Fedex Smartpost.  Fedex on the ground is notoriously slow!!

 I have bought things online several times. I usually pay for the 3 day shipping, I just ordered a bunch of things and I ordered it Monday, my items were processed by Tuesday and shipped and should be here Friday, I guess it just depends; but it looks like they are getting better. You just have to go through everything, sometimes they miss a product or two, but they send them right out to you. I love ELF!!

last week i placed an order on sunday i think and by the time friday came, it was here already :)

i live in florida, i think they always ship from NJ -> NC ->FL

 

the first time i placed an order it took them about 8 business days it wasn't too bad

 

in total i have placed about 5 orders total 600 dollars worth

but since i used some codes I only paid around 400-350 

 

but from what i read, yeah it would not  hurt answering some of the emails, or at least have a friendly automatic email response

I just purchased 8 glosses and 2 brushes for $13 bucks incl. shipping. Anywhere else, I would've paid at least $5 for only one gloss. I'd rather wait the 2 weeks than spend almost triple at a different store. :)

I have now found that the time from order to receipt is one week - not bad at all.  I turned my Mom onto ELF and she also received her order in a very timely manner.  My first order was missing an item and I called and it was shipped the very next day.  No complaints about ELF - I'm a true believer!  Everything I've tried, I've LOVED.  I'm telling everyone I know how great the products and the company is.

I've ordered three times from E.L.F. and each order took about a week and a half from the time I ordered it to the time I received it.  It was only a week and a half and already I was starting to get a little anxious waiting for my package...LOL.  Shipping COULD be faster and there's always the fear that my mailman won't bother ringing the bell more than once (and I won't hear it) when he tries to deliver my package...but it could be worse for the low price you pay for E.L.F. products.  I agree, though, that waiting two weeks when you pay almost $7 for shipping is too much.  They usually ship within 2-3 days but the actual delivery time after that can take a while.
